Salted soup, azu or stew

If you tried stew or soup while cooking, and suddenly found yourself too much with salt - this does not mean that the dish is spoiled.

A simple potato can save the situation. The root vegetable needs to be peeled and placed in the center of the pan, and after a few minutes it will absorb the excess salt.

If the recipe allows, it can be a handful of rice or pasta, only they will need to be placed in an iron strainer.

Burnt Pie

A slightly burnt crust of the pie is not a reason to refuse dessert, but only if it is really a little burnt and more confuses the appearance of the baking.

In this case, the hostess will save metal strainer or colander. When the cake has cooled slightly, it is enough to remove the burnt edges with light movements of a sieve or colander. If the shape of the pie suffers, you can turn it into a cake by covering it with icing or cream.

Cooked pasta

Even the best chefs sometimes make such a catastrophic mistake, so you shouldn't be surprised at overcooked pasta in a regular kitchen. The skill to cook al dente pasta comes with time, and even a few seconds can become fatal.

You can turn boiled pasta into an appetizing solid dish by frying them in olive oil for a few minutes in a well-heated pan.

Peppery dish

A spicy hot dish for dinner is a great solution, but the hotness of a pepper can be unpredictable. It's great if the salad, goulash or gravy turned out with a twinkle, but if even after the test the eyes begin to water and everything burns in the mouth, the dish will have to be corrected.

There are 2 main ways to save an overly spicy dish, depending on its composition. Meat dish with gravy, for example, goulash, chakhokhbili, beef stroganoff can be seasoned with sour cream. To do this, add 1-2 tablespoons of sour cream to the pan, put on a small fire, stir and simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Pepper salad will save lemon juice or lime juice: acid will mask the spiciness.

Crunchy French fries

Revealing the secret: French fries remain crispy for only 10-15 minutes after being removed from the fryer. But sometimes guests are late, and you have to reanimate the dish right before serving.

You can do this in two ways:

  • Put the fries in a deep bowl, add 3-4 tbsp. l sunflower oil, salt, mix well. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and put the potatoes on a baking sheet in one layer. The crispness of the potatoes will return in 2-3 minutes.
  • Mix the potatoes well in oil and salt, put on a plate and microwave on medium power for 30-60 seconds.

After this upgrade, the potatoes should be immediately put on the table.

Sour Sauce

Some sauces or salad dressings should be sour. It is usually recommended to add a small amount of lemon or lime juice for this. The dressing for the signature dish looks amazing, but its taste let it down: it's not sour, but sour. What to do?

The sour taste of a dish is traditionally revived by something sweet. You can add a sugar cube to hot dishes, but a teaspoon of honey will save a sauce or dressing. In addition, honey will give the dish a completely unexpected, refined taste, and even the most real gourmets will appreciate the culinary abilities.

Overcooked vegetables

If vegetables (tomatoes, eggplants, zucchini, carrots, bell peppers) become too soft and out of shape, you can easily turn them into a new dish - a casserole.

Grease the baking sheet with oil, put the vegetables on top in layers, like in a salad, or in rows, like in ratatouille, pour heavy cream and add crackers ... Sprinkle the top with grated cheese and breadcrumbs. The oven is preheated to 200 degrees, and the dish should not cook longer than 5-10 minutes.

Too thickoh creamy sauce

If the creamy sauce, and any other sauce that is cooked on the fire (stewed, cooked), thickens after a few minutes, this is not a problem. This often happens when the dish has already begun to cool.

You can return the delicate liquid texture of the sauce by passing it through a sieve, adding a piece of butter, and then boiling for another 2-3 minutes until the butter is completely melted. The taste of the sauce will not change much, but the extra thickness will go away.

Too much garlic in the soup

Some soups, such as kharcho, involve garlic. However, there are housewives who add a little spice to any soup to make it more tasty and healthy. If there is too much garlic in the soup, parsley will come to the rescue.

You can chop the herbs, add to the soup and mix - this is the first and easiest option.

If someone in the family does not like parsley, you need to do the following: cut a bunch of parsley, place in a gauze bag and put in a saucepan for 5 minutes. During this time, the parsley will "take away" the excess spice and garlic flavor, and the dish will be saved.

Creamy soup too thin

Cream soup, or puree soup, is different from traditional soups with a thicker consistency. Sometimes, even if everything is done according to the recipe, the cream soup is too thin.

The dish can be revived with bread crumb, thereby adding an interesting taste to the cream soup.

Over-Salted Stew

Fresh tomatoes can save a meat dish from an excess of salt. First, they need to be cut into small pieces, and the stew must be heated. Before serving, tomatoes are placed with the meat, and its taste will no longer seem so salty: the tomatoes will absorb excess salt.

If there are no tomatoes at home, greens are also suitable: parsley, cilantro, dill, green onions.

Overcooked meat

The easiest way to disguise dry meat is to serve it with a delicate sauce.

But there is another method that will not only return the meat to its former juiciness, but also help to get a new dish. Chefs recommend cutting the meat into small slices (but not translucent strips!), Put on a plate, sprinkle with onions, chopped tomatoes (preferably cherry), add a little vegetable oil, lemon juice and vinegar. After 5 minutes, the meat will become juicy again.
